LettsSafari's Annual Round-up of Herbivores: A Lesson in Organised Chaos
It's time for a little herbivore summer fun at LettsSafari - like herding cats!
The annual round-up of herbivores at LettsSafari was postponed by a couple of weeks this summer thanks to the poor weather conditions. It's an exhausting week of tracking, herding, health-checking, tagging the young and even shearing. We captured some of the action.
It's hard enough to herd herbivores in normal conditions - but when your targets are hiding in the wilderness it can all seem a little overwhelming as you start out. Thank goodness we have a couple of four legged friends to help flush them out!
When you finally come across them… Some give you weird looks.
Some trot, some run, some just go like a cat out of hell.
Some fight…
Some hide…
Some chill…
Some stare…
Some prepare to run.
Some get clipped…
Some stay out late.
Some vanish before your eyes…
And some are just too damned scary!
