LettsSafari's First Year!
Letts Safari is developing a new green technology category - here's what we have done in our first year
A year ago we launched LettsSafari - a new climate venture with a twist. Our goal was to harness, using technology, the power of community to tackle the biodiversity crisis through a focus on ‘renewable nature’. Today we are considered a leader in smaller-scale rewilding.
“LettsSafari is about doing rewilding to spread rewilding”.
It is quite a unique and radical idea - using a digital, subscription model to build and nurture a community driven network of rewilding safari parks that can genuinely do something about climate change and the accelerating biodiversity crisis. Our amazing members participate with us to build, develop and extend smaller-scale rewilding across the UK - genuinely doing something about climate change.
We have spent the last year nurturing our early cohort of enthusiastic subscribers, growing our network of LettsSafari parks, planting trees and removing carbon - while developing more wild habitats and introducing wildlife.
Celebrate our first anniversary with us. We want to write about your own rewilding projects. Send us photos and get in touch so we can feature your rewilding work and experiences at LettsSafari. Comment or email us.
A year ago our first LettsSafari park in southwest England came on stream. Today there are 5 rewilding safari parks in the LettsSafari Network of Parks - and you visit them all online from the comfort of your home. We hope that our passionate and dedicated wildlife photographers, filmmakers and writers have genuinely given you a front row seat at our parks.
We also launched and then expanded LettsSafari +, our members digital media service. Every Friday you get an update ‘from the park’ direct to your inbox, at our website and in the app. We have opened channels including Wildlife Photos, Safari Gardens, Rewilding and most recently Wild TV.
Some of you have approached us to organise a group visit to see the parks in ‘real life’. We had a lot of fun together. It inspired us to launch a new Platinum Subscription for companies and individuals that want to make even more of a difference with us.
LettsSafari is a digital platform that allows individuals to do something practical about containing the adverse rate of climate change - one tree, one animal, one new safari park at a time. It provides a tangible, proactive and economically viable solution to the impacts of climate change through digitalized safari parks that are engineered specifically towards rapidly repairing soil and waterways, absorbing CO2, and ensuring trees and plants thrive naturally, providing habitats for wildlife.
Subscribers participate and learn how to implement ‘mini’ LettsSafari's in their garden, work, school and in the community.
Our approach is based on attracting large numbers of digital subscribers who pay £3.50 per month or £35 annually to build wild spaces with us and for themselves. They engage, learn and participate online. We believe that, at scale, our approach can make a measurable and material impact on the climate and biodiversity crisis.
Over the next 12 months we will further expand the LettsSafari Network of Parks, plant many more trees, extend our content at LettsSafari + to bring you even more rewilding projects from around the world and, of course, continue to utilise advanced technology to monitor our progress, improve our habitats and do even more for climate and wildlife. We will also be launching an exciting new version of LettsSafari.com.
We want to continue as leaders in smaller-scale rewilding with more thought leadership, research and tips and tricks. So you can become an expert as well. Paying it forward.
Over the longer term we want to use even more advanced technology to further virtualize our parks, fully immerse our viewers and one day even develop a larger hybrid LettsSafari park that can not only be experienced online but also visited and stayed in by any of you in-person. You know, like an Eden Project for Rewilding.
Many of our early members have told us stories about how LettsSafari has inspired them to create a mini LettsSafari in their backyard, schools, work places and community spaces. Many of you have rewilded sections of your gardens, some of you persuaded your local council to allow you to rewild municipal parks and one of you is even rewilding an entire village! Most of you have participated in ‘no mow May’ and let your verges go wild! Hopefully over the next year you will go even further. Write us about your rewilding experiences so we can share them and we can all learn from each other.
Together we can further expand our community of subscribers and supporters - and in so doing inspire many more people to do something tangible about climate change.
