A Winter Wildlife Photo Shoot
LettsSafari's wildlife photographers brave the cold to do what they do best - wild photo shoots!
It's been a cold, dry, post El Nino winter in LettsSafari's rewilding safari parks in southwest England. And yet, it is a welcome respite from the west country's traditionally wet dark months. The theme for this update from the parks and our wider photo-shoot is 'herbivore's hanging out in the morning frost' . A sight well worth seeing.
The entrance to LettsSafari's Dawlish Park always takes people's breath away. A setting that feels as wild and dynamic as the African Bush - even in the depths of winter! A peaceful, yet vibrant haven where all kinds of birds, mammals, butterflies, reptiles and plants can truly get their wild on.
Of course the Devon seaviews are the constant icing on the cake - a sparkling sight around so many corners.
The visitors to LettsSafari's rewilding safari parks comment on how relaxed and playful the animals appear - even the herbivore's that remain within the perimeter fences driving the forces of habitat regeneration. Naturally they are more at home in the wild than anywhere else.
The ancient trees that make up the old woods in Dawlish Park are a hidden wonder - particularly in the early morning light.
The salad bowl of wild prairie in Sunrise Park requires carefully grazing to extract the fewer juicy elements at the back end of winter. But the trio below seem to take quite a regimented approach - expert pickers!
Coming soon ... 'It's a Beaver's world...'
At times it's almost impossible to describe the true magic of LettsSafari's rewilding safari parks in real life. We are constantly amazed at how our wildlife photographers find the patience and skill to be able to immerse the rest of us in this haven. A place where herbivores, amongst others, can live a daily fairy tale life. One that smaller-scale rewilding done right can truly deliver.
